Moving my home DNS off the Raspberry Pi
The Pi served DNS for the house for four years. The SD card finally gave up during a power cut, and the whole family noticed within ten minutes.
Lesson learned: DNS is infrastructure. It now runs as two small containers on two different hosts, and the router hands out both addresses. Either one can die without anyone noticing.
The Pi got a new job as a weather station on the balcony. It is happier there.
